Transmission 5 Notes

Well this episode was long in the making. I actually re-did it twice. I just couldn't get it down right.

You will notice that it is the first podcast that I use any kind of effects on my voice. I really wanted to do a robot story and thought that this was the best way of doing it. I hope it doesn't sound to cheesy. I didn't really get into some of the more interesting things about this character. Such is the limitations of the format that I am going with.

This is also the first enhanced podcast with album art and links. It makes for a nice experiance on an iPod or on iTunes.

I really feel that this podcast is best heard in bed with headphones in the dark.

You will also notice that the intro is redone as well. This is due to the fact that the orginal had to many things that i just didn't like. Such as long pauses and some background noises. I feel this intro moves a little faster and has a more "transmission' feel to it.

The idea for the intro comes from a John Carpenter film called "Prince Of Darkness".
In that movie there was these people from the future sending transmissions back to the past of future events. The Transmissions were all broken and fuzzy sounding, I really liked that idea and wanted to pay homage to it.

I am trying to get better about putting these out on time and in a regular basis. But as I work on a computer all day, it sometimes is hard for me to come home and work on a computer for more hours to put out the podcast. But I am very committed to this project, so wish me luck.

Nest is a Blue Snowball Mic, this is a super cool mic, and I cant wait to get my grubby little hands on it.

I hope you enjoyed this weeks podcast, and tune in to the next one.
(transmission 6 is 90% done as of now, just need to record the story now. All the hard stuff is done as far as production goes)

Namaste
